After being overwhelmed by kindness, generosity, and holiday spirit…and questions on how people can get involved with our efforts to help our fellow human kind, we have taken the step to start our own organization page at VolunteerSpot.com. You don’t have to sign up for an account there, just go to our page and sign up via your email for any event we have listed that you would like to attend. It’s just that simple. Currently we have our 2014 Thanksgiving dinner listed as our first event, check back for more events to be listed. Taco Likers. You are incredible. The donations we have received have been almost overwhelming. Your generosity has amazed us here at the Tacopocalypse campola. After using what we need to prepare dinner for CISS, we donated what was left to the Food Bank Of Iowa. How much? 792 Pounds of food is how much. Thanks to your donations, we were able to provide meals for 300+ clients at CISS and still be able to provide enough food for 1795 more meals for local families in need. That’s over 2,000 meals. That is entirely thanks to YOU, YOU helped make so many peoples’ holiday better.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! WE WILL SEE THOSE OF YOU VOLUNTEERING TIME TOMORROW!
I am pretty blown away by the generosity of our community. We have received an amazing outpouring of donations from the Des Moines area for Young Professionals Connection‘s TacopocalypseCentral Iowa Shelter & Services Thanksgiving Dinner. We can’t wait to turn all of these ingredients into an unforgettable holiday meal for those in need. Thank you to all who have donated food, money, and time to help us make this even better than we had hoped for. We are still taking donations at the restaurant, and those who want to volunteer contact us at Tacopocalypsedm@gmail.com. Thank you thank you!
